1320x Drag Meeting. 6am start at the track cold as, track temp 5.1. Coley is already towing rubber. It’s still dark so I get on the second tractor to help also. Sun rises slowly track temp goes down to 4.6 bloody cold. We tow till 7.00am then spray the track with PJ1 and leave it to warm up in the sun. 1320x crew turn up with camera and gear help them get set up. Go over to see how the boys are going with the our drag cars. The night before I was at Beaurepaires till 10 pm trying to fix the new slicks we thought we had them fixed, but come Saturday morning we still couldn’t pump them up properly (inner tube and outer slick) Matty took them back to town to try again. We missed qualifying and went to rear of field for round one . Car wasn’t running well idling too high we thought we would have a go anyway it was hard to hold in stage and eventually red lighted still ran 7.5 @ 179 mph. Shook hard in braking area and cracked the fuel tank so that ended a shitty day for the blown altered and Matty. My 23 T/Bucket ran well I got 1 qualifier in, while trying to help with the blown altered ran a 10.26 @ 127mph. First round I come up against Andrews altered we did our burn out but he had trouble with his gear shift. I get a solo. Round two I got to race Damages altered I leave first Damage chases me down just beat’s me over the line (close race) Wait for our crews to find out who won. Damage brakes out 8.8 ran 8.7. I win on a 10.2 ran 10.21. Finals I come up against Nicky dragster we do the TV interview rib each other a bit get in our cars, do a good burn out go in to stage don’t want to red light after paying her out about doing it in our finals last meeting . Lights come down I leave hard good light I think I can see the finish line coming up and Nicky hasn’t got to me yet. I beat her I think fantastic race so close I get out shake her hand great race we don’t know whose won, wait for our crew to turn up Courtnay pick’s me up show’s no emotion this is not good I think . Nicky’s crew turn up cheering . Nicky win’s it must of being bloody close can’t wait to see that on TV (1320x show). My time card reaction was .107 not good. 10.306 on a 10.20 dial in , I ran 128.32 mph. The T/Bucket slowed down on me after running 10.20 all day. Nicky’s time card Reaction .090 ran 8.485 on a 8.38 dial in ran 156.95 mph, we both slowed by a 10th. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Reed Racing Family (Steve, Debbie, Daniel, Fiona, Sally and their crew) for all of your help in our first year in Superchargered Outlaws. Your experience and willingness to assists us is very much appreciated. Australia Number 2 not bad for first year in must be the good car we brought and a good young driver. We would also like to thank my own crew Jason, Shaun, Courtnay, Graeme,Tamara, Steven for all their help this year. Couldn’t have done it without you.
