Alice Springs Titles The day started with me arriving in from the airport at 1130 like normal. But this time we were hoping for no trouble, not like the last meeting where we had all sorts of major and minor problems. but we started off with the little things and worked our way up to starting the altered. It didnt go to plan we missed the 1st and 2nd qualifier due to a leaking fuel barrel. We quickly removed the barrel and dismantled it and found o-rings had gone hard. So we rushed around the pits looking for o-rings and found nothing but luckly we had CBC bearing on the case ( Thank you CBC Bearings ) and open the shop so we could have some new o-rings. We fitted the barrell and fired the altered back up and found we had too much idle. So we changed a few more things and finally got out for the last qualifier. Reaction 0.051 7.77 @ 156mph. Not a good run, the altered stood out when i shifted into second gear and then lost power at 1000ft. found spark plugs were cracked, time for some new ones. Round 1 i came up against peter cole from darwin in a blown torana. Reaction 0.118 7.33 @ 165mph. I came up with the win. I pulled the chute early thinking i was going to to breakout. Round 2 i had a bye run. good run to test my dial-in. Reaction 0.008 7.31 @ 182mph. Very good run. Nice and clean. Round 3 i came up with another bye but Craig pankhurst in the funnycar also had a bye round so we decided to run each other. Reaction 0.095 7.24 @ 184mph. Best time ever!!! i on the round due to craig red lighting. luckly cause i brokeout. very fast run. Finals i came up agaist Ben simpson frm darwin. Ben is a very competitive driver and is always hard to beat. Reaction 0.124 7.62 @ 164mph. I WON. Ben got crossed up and almost ended up in my lane but i caught him and past him at half track so i knew i had won and pulled the chuts early. We won the day, got best reaction for the day and quickest ET for the day. Would like to thank all our sponors and crew for everything they do.
