April, May, June 2010 Update Brisbane 10th April Qualify 1: Reaction 0.112 7.159 @ 173 mph backed off at top end due to car moved badly. Adjusted wing slightly to improve down force. Qualify 2: Reaction 0.004 7.17 @ 187 mph: good run. Qualify 3: Reaction 0.135 7.19 @ 186 mph: mis-fired through mid track. Round 1: Engine shut down, Found broken valve in head. Removed head and found only slight damage to piston. Bad damage to cylinder head. Sydney 30-31-1st April/May Qualify 1: Reaction 0.011 7.14 @ 186 mph: tyres shook badly. Removed wheels and checked balance, found balance ok. Qualify 2: Reaction -0.03 7.12 @ 186 mph: parachute did not deploy, I ended up in the sand trap. Not fun trying to remove tiny little rocks from every spot in the race car. We had a closer look at the parachute cable and couldn’t explain why it happened. We lubbed the cable and tried folding the parachute bag differently, seems to be ok. Still had bad tyre shake so we looked further, found rear axle bearings loose. Qualify 3: We didn’t run due to race car stripped down from sand trap accident and axle bearing problem. We made sure car was perfect before we went back out again. Round 1: we dialled in 7.12 Reaction 0.076 7.07 @ 187 mph. Broke out. Best run we ever done. No shaking and parachute came out OK. Brisbane 10-11-12-13th June WINTERNATIONALS Qualify 1: Reaction 0.063 7.10 @ 187 mph: Good run. Qualify 2: Reaction 0.037 7.11 @ 188 mph: Good run. Qualify 3: Didn’t run: too late at night track was too dewy Round 1: Dial-in 7.08 Reaction 0.332 7.07 @ 189 mph: other guy red lit. Another PB and MPH PB (personal best) Round 2: Dial-in 7.07 Reaction 0.126 7.26 @ 156 mph: other guy red lit. Noticed he red lit and pulled parachute early. Round 3: Dial-in 7.07 Reaction 0.140 7.20 @ 186mph, lost round. Suspect spun wheels on cold track. Very good round at Willowbank. Placed 12th in Australian Championship. Had a few troubles through the year but we have it sorted now with a PB at every track and being very competitive. Can’t wait for Round 1 at Sydney, first round for 2010/11.
